Environment means surroundings in which an organism lives. The study of the environment and its interaction with the living beings is called Ecology. The environment has two components: living as well as non-living. Living components of the environment are humans, animals, plants, and microorganisms while the non-living components include atmosphere, sunlight, temperature, soil, water etc. Environmental science includes two aspects namely environmental studies and environmental engineering. Environmental studies include the interaction of humans and other organisms with environmental factors whereas environmental engineering is the science dealing with the technology and procedures for the betterment of the environment and providing remedies for environmental problems.
