Wanna Know Different Methods of Dissertation?
There are two primary dissertation research methods: qualitative and quantitative.
Qualitative Research
The method of Qualitative research is focused on analyzing a topic with the help of cultural phenomena, behavior of humans, or system of belief. Quantitative research is used in interviews, open questions, or focus groups to gain insight into people’s ideas and thoughts about certain behaviors and systems.
The three most regularly sub Fields of quantitative research include:
- Study the matter
Studying the method is the most important method if you are studying the environment. This field includes interviews, field work, documents, research journals and possibly some quantitative elements. Case study is focused on a particular issue or problem which is faced by a person and studies it from specific ways.
- Method of Phenomenology
In this you have to focus on the phenomenon of your research. In research you are trying to understand what the experience is like for the topic. You can take the example of Hurricane Katrina. The work of a researcher is to be involved in the event which he wants to cover. A researcher using this method will be trained during courses and residencies to conduct this type of research.
Quantitative Research Method
The method of Quantitative research involves old data analysis or investigation. This method is used to test hypotheses, predict the research outcomes, and determine the relationships between variables with the help of using analysis of statistical data. There are two types of quantitative research methods like:
- Primary method
In the primary method of primary data the information is collected with the help of sampling or other methods. Participants are recruited for the study, informed consent is obtained, and quantitative data are done either electronically or in person by the researcher. This method allows the researcher to decide which variables they want to choose. Variables are measured using instruments whose psychometric properties (reliability and validity) have been established by other authors. Information is analyzed using statistical techniques to assess the nature of the relationships between and among the variables.
- Secondary data method
Secondary data method involves statistical analysis of information collected by other researchers. The data which is collected through Secondary analysis will save time for researchers because recruitment of participants and data collection are avoided in this method. It is also a way to analyze the data about vulnerable populations in an ethical way. However, when using this method, researchers must formulate their research questions based on the data which is available.
