Introduction

In This Visualization we will see that how the Ratings & Reviews change over the decades by the application either it is Free or Paid plus on the second sheet we can see that how the applications are installed over the time 2011-2018  how many installations are done over time & how the content of the applications are produced over the years & how the sizes of the applications are changed over the time from the beginning of the period we can see less space applications are produced & now it  produces larger applications.

Selection of Tools Used in The Visualization

In this visualization, I have used tools like Tableau to do the visualization. In the slides I have also added a new filter feature so that it would be very easy for us to analyze the data set. The data cleaning method consist of year field in the data set.

Ratings & Reviews By The Users Over The Years

In this Visualization we can see that the reviews change over the beginning of the time such as during the time period of 2010 where the android users are less but the reviews are just only “1” & the rating is 4.2. In the year 2011 the reviews & ratings changed a great “2 & 3” but the rating is more such as 3.1- 4.6 great change over the time & same story over the time 2012 but one thing to be surprised i.e. in 2018 the ratings & reviews are more compared to other years. So, from this point we can analyze that as time passes by technology develops & more new users come.

Applications Installed In A Month/Year

In the third slide we can see how the applications are installed by decades over the time from the beginning of the period we can see that in 2010 the install rate is lower compared to the 2011 but as time passes by the install rate increases because the number of users increases. In 2018 we can see that from January- August the applications are installed & updated but in the rest of the month we can see that there is no install plus the update.

Application Types Produced Over The Years

In the third slide we have divided the application types to show which applications are produced over time / year. The types include Action, Adventure, Arcade, Beauty, Board & so on. Whereas on the other hand we can see the paid applications are produced over the years but the interesting fact is that the paid applications are produced lowest because it is least performing due to it being paid app whereas on the other hand we can see that the Free applications are highest performing. In this visualization we can clearly see the customer segment what they like.

Application Installed Over the Year

This slide is same as the third slide in this slide is used for delivering clear presentation to the audience. In this slide we can choose by hovering the lollypop chart details of the install.

Type of Content Produced Over the Years

This slide is very easy to understand for the developers who will be developing the application it is easy for them to target the content on which they will work & get hit in the market. If a person make application which can be used by everyone then he/ she will hit the market with new record as we can see on the other hand, we can see if anybody or any developer who target their content with “Unrated” or “Mature17+” or “Adults only 18+” then their applications will not get any hit in the play store or in the market.

In this Slide I have added year field in the filter column because it would be very easy for us to understand in which year what type of content is produced over the given year & how much it is produced.

Application Sizes Over the Years

This is the most important slide according to my view because it tells us how applications get developed by time in the year 2010 we can see the family application is just only 209KB. Next, in the year 2011 technology develops the lowest size of the application is 26KB & the highest size 13MB great change over the time. So, the number will grow on as expected because technology changes over time. Last, but not least in the year 2018 we were surprised because the lowest size of the application is just 10MB whereas on the other hand highest size of the application is 69MB. We have stated our counting from 209KB & it reached in a great height almost 69MB. Great change in technology, graphics, quality of the application.

Conclusion

So, far we can see that which application is performing well on Google Play Store over the years. It would be very easy for us to predict that in which product there is more consumers by seeing the reviews for ex. “Mature”, “Adult only 18+” & “Everyone 10+” are the least performing category whereas applications made for “Everyone” has the highest review among all of them. In the Year of 2018 is the highest performing year compared to other years in terms to Install & Review. In the year 2011 the application sizes of Business are just “39KB” whereas on the other hand the lowest size of application is “26KB” for Tools app. Now, in the year, 2018 the size of the application is “69MB” for family app & “11MB” for books app. From the above point we can see that where the developer should focus on their content developing & launching their application. The developer should not waste their time in A/B testing when making their application. In this Visualization this is clear that in which content the developer should work on to get the right market for them. The extra Filter column is added because it will be very easy for us to understand which year install/ content / size is high & which year it is low.
